Add transparencies

Photos that adapt to different backgrounds. Transparencies can be added to any photo allowing your images to be used on a variety of backgrounds. Our team manually traces the outer edge of your product to clip it from the native white background. This enables your images to blend with whatever background you decide to use, like the image seen here.

Delivery in layered tiff format. Each transparency is delivered as a layered tiff file containing separate product, shadow, and background layers, all of which can be independently enabled or disabled. Add $20 per photo

Hero shots

What’s a hero shot? A hero shot is our top white background service which includes everything in our core service above but with significantly higher resolution, extensive additional touch-up, and transparencies.

How much larger are the images? Shooting at 36 megapixels, each image comes off the camera at a whopping 7360 × 4912 pixels (before cropping). This adds up to a 4x increase in image size over our standard photos for maximum possible clarity. Final prints sizes up to 24″ at 300 DPI or 48″ at 150 DPI.

What extra touch-up will you perform? Often, product prototypes and manufacturing samples contain minor defects not representative of the final product. Our hero shots go far beyond our standard service in correcting many manufacturing errors such as crooked labels, mold seams, misaligned gaps, damaged box corners, and much more.

Includes transparencies. All hero shots include transparencies delivered in a layered tiff format for easy incorporation into your design.

When should I order hero shots over standard product photos? We recommend hero shots for use on the Amazon.com marketplace as the primary image in your listing. We also recommend hero shots any time an image needs to be extremely high resolution or when it will receive intense scrutiny such as with product packaging or advertisements.

Ghost mannequin

A fitted look, no model required. Using special techniques, apparel can be photographed styled on a mannequin which is then removed in post production creating a hollow appearance commonly called “ghost mannequin” or “hollow man.” It’s a great solution allowing a fitted look without the need for a model.

Need something not listed above? Custom shots offer an open-ended service allowing for more complex arrangements than what’s covered in the scope of our core services above.

Large groups and complex assembly. We can shoot large group shots exceeding 5 pieces while creating a balanced arrangement that showcases your products. We also offer complex installation and assembly such as door hardware, plumbing fixtures, or furniture.

Special props. Whether you require kitchen tools with fresh produce, or medical equipment with beakers and graduated cylinders, we’ll gather the props needed to show your products in the right context.
